“GO AHEAD; YOU WERE HERE FIRST.”

I participate in a Facebook Art Group, which issues a new challenge for us every month. This month’s challenge had to do with memories, and this is my response.

I’ve titled this little painting “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come.”

It’s the time of year, when I start creating Christmas cards for the new holiday season. This is the front of the very first card for the 2021 Christmas season. I think I’m going to leave the inside of this one blank so the sender will have plenty of room for his own personal message or even a short note. I did the original work in watercolor, and then turned it into prints for the cards.

Believe it or not, I totally forgot to tell you that my second adult coloring book, COLOR ME CONTENT, is now available!
I’m one of these people who loves to color to relax, and I just can’t seem to do that with coloring books that have pictures with thousands of intricate, convoluted lines and configurations. They are just too intense for me. So I’m putting out books that have my own artwork in them. Most of them are ordinary landscapes or floral pictures, and a few are more geometric, but simple. If you follow this website, you’ve seen most of these pictures as I posted them one at a time right after creating them.
This book is 6 x 9 in size, paperback, and easy to carry around and manipulate. There are 20 individual pictures and then there are 3 pictures repeated in the back of the book, so that colorists can stretch themselves a little farther and try doing those pictures a second time with a different color palette or medium.
The paper does very well with colored pencils and crayons, and should do well with pastels. However, some markers do bleed through, so you’ll want to test markers before using them. If you enjoy coloring, you can check it out and get your own copy HERE:

Just a fun page from one of my art journals.

Today the old chief passed,
Enwreathed by potent memories
Of battles fierce, of freedoms lost,
Of smoking pipe with enemies
Who swore to keep the peace treaties
But quickly spurned such promises
When greed for lands gained upper hand.
Today the old chief passed
And hastened to his ancestors,
To mountains, valleys, fertile plains,
Sparkling rivers, fields of grain,
Miles and miles of vast domain
Where Cherokee live free again,
Never again to be betrayed.
The old chief passed today.

Lighthouse
On edge of cliff,
Stands serene and secure,
Consistently abating dark
With light.

Acrylics on canvas.

I like stripes.
Fundamental designs,
They give variety, but keep stability.
Combinations abound.
Dream decor.
