creating christmas cards

It’s the time of year, when I start creating Christmas cards for the new holiday season. This is the front of the very first card for the 2021 Christmas season. I think I’m going to leave the inside of this one blank so the sender will have plenty of room for his own personal message or even a short note. I did the original work in watercolor, and then turned it into prints for the cards.

He Still Comes

“How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given.
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His Heaven.
No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still,
The dear Christ enters in.”

Harvest Time

The fields are ripe for harvest.
Let’s be about our task
To spread the Lord’s great mercy
And love for all who’ll ask.

Let’s tell the world of Jesus
And how He took our sin.
How God’s granted forgiveness
To all because of Him.

Let’s concentrate on loving
The broken and the lost
And demonstrate with actions
God’s love at any cost.

Let’s pray the Lord of harvest
Touch hearts and draw them home.
The fields are ripe for harvest.
Even, so, Lord Jesus, come.

Peace Pipe

These days there are a lot of people out there who need to spend some time smoking a peace pipe instead of  screaming, cussing, and wreaking havoc on others.

My Second Rendition of This Theme

This painting is my second rendition of the theme of the TRUE PROTECTOR OF OUR DREAMS.  This version is watercolor and acrylics used together.

World Watercolor Month

W.W. MONTH -- GENERAL LOGOHey, you watercolor artists out there — and all of you who have ever thought you might like to dabble in watercolor — did you know that July is World Watercolor Month?  I’m posting my entries for the first four days’ prompts below. But entrants do not have to follow the prompts. It you’d like to paint anything at all in watercolor, you can post it on any social media sight with this hashtag — #worldwatercolormonth —  and it will be connected to the main gallery that records everyone’s entries.  If you’d like more information on participating — which is totally free by the way — just hop over to the Doodlewashsite and check out the details.

Here are my entries so far:

DAY 1: REJOICE

REJOICE ELEPHANT

DAY 2: TEXTURE

TEXTURE 1
TEXTURE 2

DAY 3: PLAYFUL

DAY 4: QUIET

PSALM 23 POOL w. credits
I actually painted this piece in a previous year, but when I saw the prompt, it was my first thought. So I decided to share it even though it wasn’t created just for this year’s WWM project.
