If I could touch the face of God,
I’d plant a tender kiss.
I’d wrap my arms around His neck
In such a sweet embrace.
I’d whisper in His ear
The words of love my heart cannot contain.
Oh …
If I could reach
To kiss the face of God.

Lovely Sandra!
Thank you. It’s actually one of many songs that have just come floating up in my spirit during times of private worship.
And He is within our reach, limited as it may be; for He promised: “Lo, I am withj you always.”
GOD IS LOVE a song (C) 2010
by Max C. Hanson
Not Muscle , hair, blood, skin,
GOD IS LOVE (cont’d)
Bone nor DNA
Defines he image
Of our God;
For unlimited Love, so
Free and un-earned
Is the real and true
Image of God.
REFRAIN:
His Love Is The Image
In which we are made —
To inherit and
To Bequest;
Our physical bodies
Are mere tools we use
To Share That Great
Love with the rest.
That Great Love bonds all of
God’s Children as one,
Each of us His
Daughter or Son.
We mirror His Love in our
Family care;
Good things in life
With each we share.
REFRAIN (as above)
This song was written for my niece who was adopted by my sister and her husband as a new-born. Her birth parents were Afrcan-American. She bgrew up and married a fine young man of similar parentage. When they brought their three young children to our 2010 Hanson Family Reunion here, in Southern Illinois,my niece was having difficulty how they fit into the heritage of a white family — how they were part of the Hansons. My sister asked If I could write a poem to help explain it. This song is the result.
Your song speaks volumes, Max. I’m sure it did to your family as well. Thanks for sharing it here.
Nicely written Sandra
Thank you. It actually came to me as a worship song when I was spending private time with the Lord one day.
Have a Blessed Easter!
