Candid Camera or The Twilight Zone?
“How long ’til the bus,Ted?”
“Soon.”
Rrrring.
“Hey, Ted, that payphone’s ringin’”
“Who cares?”
“Well …”
Five minutes later.
“Hey, Ted, that’s the phone again.”
“Don’t bother me.”
“But 10 rings! Maybe it’s important!”
“You wanta answer it? Answer it!”
“Yeah … I will.”
Reaching for the receiver: “Hey! What the …? … Hey, Ted, look at this!”
Ted snatched the earpiece from Freddy. “Somebody’s talkin’ on here!”
“There ain’t no way to answer ’em, Ted! What’ll we do?”
Ted looked around suspiciously. “I know what this is … one of them hidden camera shows.” Squaring his shoulders: “Stand up straight, Freddy. I think we’re on TV.”

‘Stand up straight, Freddy. I think we’re on TV’ you are so good at funny stuff 🙂
Thanks, Gilly. So often I get into one of those giddy moods. I think it’s my own mind’s efforts to de-stress. But, in all honesty, when I saw that phone with no mouthpiece on the receiver, the old TV show Candid Camera was the first thing that came to my mind. I asked Danny what the deal was about that messed up phone, and he said it was just like that when he saw it. He didn’t have any idea why, but wanted to take a picture of it.
I remember “Candid Camera!” It was always funny and just the sort of thing that you mention in your story.

Smile please you are on ——- nice one 😉
Dear Sandra,
Allen Funt’s behind the car across the street. Fanny Flagg will walk in soon and show Ted the hidden camera.
Cute story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks. Rochelle. I just thought of Candid Camera as soon as I saw that stupid looking phone.
That was cute. The first thing I noticed about the pic was no receiver too. Just a dollar sign.
Thank you, Shirley. I actually didn’t notice it until I’d looked at it for some time, but as soon as I did notice it, I thought of Candid Camera.
That literally made me LOL.
