Flags, Flags, Flags

FLAG COUNTER IMAGE ONLYHey, I have my new flag counter up on my site (thanks to Nando’s unselfish efforts at tutoring me in how to get it up). So be sure and come over and visit as soon as you can. That way, your country’s flag will show up on my counter.

I Know … I sound like a kid with a brand new toy. But … that’s what I am: a kid with a brand new toy!

    1. Yes, when I think of all the thousands of visits there have been over the past year, it’s unfortunate that they can’t show up to begin with. But it will be interesting to see how quickly they accumulate now.

  1. you should now get UK showing…and is it a Union Jack flag or red cross of England… smiling Sandra,, Xmas is coming…

    1. Yes, I keep cheering myself up with the thought that Christmas is getting closer and closer.

Last summer, my family and I were on a trip to the Smoky Mountains, and in one of the towns, there was a little restaurant that was totally English in theme. They had the English flag in several places and numerous photos and memorabilia from English history. I didn’t have my camera along that day, so I had my sister take photos so that I could post them, especially for you and for Dorset Rambler and Lucid Gypsy. But somehow we lost them. I was disappointed because I thought you’d get a kick out of them.

      1. Well Sandra, not worry, a shame in so much you lost them for yourself, and it would have been nice,, but the thought was there and that is good enough for me. thank you .. šŸ˜‰

        1. Oh, by the way, my flag counter management page says to allow 48 hours to get all the statistics set up, so it may be another day or so before your flag shows up. I guess I’m so used to living in the world of “instant” technology, I get in a hurry for things to show up RIGHT NOW. Sometimes I sit and TRY to think how things used to be when it took weeks to get a letter to someone else, and it seems so sad to think people had to wait so long to talk back and forth. Of course, when we mail overseas — even with all the advanced technology — they always tell us that even first-class still takes about a week to arrive at its destination. I can’t imagine a life without Internet anymore.

          1. I agree, the common word here is patience šŸ˜‰ the old letter to another country that is if they get there at all. A few months back I had to send two to America to my friend, the first one never did arrive, but the second did.. so much more reliable emails or blogs.. I think I would also be lost..we would never have met people like you.. so it wins hands down for me.. šŸ˜‰

          2. Hey the good old English flag is flying now! I noticed the flag counter on my other site was working, but not this one, so I deleted it and put up a brand new one. It works! You’re on there.

          3. Thanks for this, must tell how you got it,, anyway Sandra will keep my eye open for it,, nice little extra. šŸ˜‰

          4. I got it by going to this link:
            http://s11.flagcounter.com/index.html
which was passed on to me by Colline. But then after I created my counter on that site, it gave me an HTML code and told me to paste it into the “source code” of my blog. I didn’t know where that was. That’s when I asked Nando for help, and he explained that all I had to do was take one of my Text Widgets and paste that code into the window of that widget. It worked.

    1. Yes, and they are taking so long to get the stuff up there. They said it could be two days before it’s all showing up right. But if they managed to get my U.S. flag up there, I don’t understand why the others are taking so long. Sorry about that. It’s only right that you guys should show up first, but I think they only show each country the FIRST time someone from that country comes onto the site. I’ll probably have to have it up a while to see exactly how it works. I’m impatient. New toys are no fun if you can’t play with them right away.

    2. Yay, the English flag is now flying!!! I noticed my counter on my other page was working but not this one, so I deleted it and put up a brand new one. It works, and England was the second flag to fly. (U.S. was first because it recorded my own visit first). Too bad your flag can’t show up every time one of my English friends visits. Thanks for helping me wave my flags!
