I’m going to close this series with today’s tea party. I hope you all have enjoyed this little jaunt with me into the world of coffee (or tea occasionally). It’s been an effort on my part to de-stress and get back to just having some fun with my website. It has worked pretty well, in that I am more relaxed now. However, duty does call, and being the type of person who has a particularly adamant sense of responsibility, I will get back to doing my serious writing now. Not that I won’t slap something else whimsical up here again soon — but today I MUST work on finishing the 5th edition of my healing book — and one of my novels has been waiting a long time for its revisions and its ‘sprucing up.’
So welcome to my tea party. Have a cookie and a cup of tea on me, and have a happy day.

I mentioned on Day 7 that I might include a post or two about hot tea as well as coffee, so let’s talk tea today. Some people consider tea a British drink. Well, it may have been once upon a time, but for my lifetime, it’s been as American as coffee. I often have both hot tea and coffee in the same day. My favorite, by far, is English Breakfast Tea, but I enjoy many other kinds — including herbal teas. A box like the one pictured — with a huge variety to choose from — is a great prize. And I definitely prefer bags to loose tea. No matter how carefully I strain the loose tea, I still have aggravating leaves in my cup. So you can just call me a “bag lady.”

Ooooh, more stresssssssss! But that’s okay, because I know how to get to my “Happy Place.” Just pick up one of my delightful books by Miss Read, add a fresh-brewed cup of coffee, and I’m there! 🙂

The heroes and heroines in all my novels love coffee. It’s a given because intelligent, fascinating, delightful people always do. 🙂

I need a bigger cup. In fact, I don’t think there’s enough coffee in this whole world to deal with all the stress of this day!!!
Tomorrow just has to be better.

CHECKLIST FOR THE PERFECT HUSBAND
1. Must love coffee
2. Must be able to brew a great pot of coffee
3. Who cares? If he’s nailed the first two, he’s bound to get everything else right.

Hey,
Today is the first of May!
That means that Spring is here to stay!
Hooray!

Trent, over at “Trent’s World” is hosting his “Weekly Smile” invitational again now, and I thought I’d throw in my reason for smiling this week. As many of my regular visitors know, I’ve been dabbling in watercolor painting this past year — primarily for the purpose of de-stressing. Playing with watercolor relaxes me. But the more I played with that medium, the more I got interested in adding a few other mediums to the mix as well, and the next thing I knew, I was playing with ink and then with a whole new set of markers, and who knows where it will lead next.
I’ve kept journals that were connected with my writing and with my ministry, but I had never started an art journal. So this Christmas I decided that I should put a good mixed-media journal on my list of wishes so I could use it to practice and experiment. And sure enough, I got a beautiful journal that is filled with a combination of excellent watercolor pages and sketch pages. Now, that really made me smile. But that wasn’t the end of the story, because every time I do something new in that journal, my smile grows wider. I’ve been doing watercolor, ink, graphite sketches, marker drawings, and poems — all in the same book. So I’ve been smiling a whole lot this past week.
I’ll share a few of the pages below, and just maybe one or two of them will make you smile as well.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

Sorry I could not find the original creator of this artwork to give credit, but it’s one of my favorite Christmas graphics.
