I wish you did too, Gilly. When we have a really good and happy relationship with our parents, there’s just no other relationship that can ever quite give us what that does. I lost my mother about 30 years ago. She and I were so close. We shared everything with each other. I miss her so much to this day and would give most of what I own to have 30 minutes to sit and talk with her.
The Lord brought my dad another good wife a few years after my mother’s passing, and he has had the opportunity to bring up another family and be the exemplary father to them that they needed as well.
And I was very blessed when the Lord brought me a husband who had all the strength and determination of my dad and the sweetness and graciousness of my mother. Unfortunately, he went to be with the Lord about 9 years ago. (Well, unfortunately for me — certainly not for him.) But I see in me and my own nature the good things from all of these people as they have made their mark on me, and I’m exceedingly grateful.
You’re a lucky girl – I too had a special bond with my Papa, so I know:)
It is wonderful to have an inspiring person with you to live your life’s journey. I enjoyed looking at your unusual interpretation of this week’s theme.
Thank you. I’ve had a wonderful, close relationship with both of my parents. My mother went on to be with the Lord about 30 years ago, but I miss her very much to this day. My dad is now 87 and going strong, so we still get to spend some time together.
Oh how sweet and touching, I love it and really wish I had my dad beside me!

What a wonderful subject for the prompt. Those journeys have still brought smiles!

By the way, I love the daffodil in your gravatar.
Great interpretation of the theme! I lost my beloved father 1 1/2 years ago; we had a wonderful “journey” together. Treasure every minute!
You bettcha:)
Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment.
I enjoyed it – I enjoyed your bookended journey with your father.
There’s right at 62 years of living packed between those “bookends.”
