I took this photo while riding with my sister as she took her very first flying lesson. I went along, carrying my camera and two of hers, in order to document the event for posterity. Although flying in large jets does not make me dizzy at all, flying in this tiny three-seater put my head on a merry-go-round. The only time I could keep it settled was when I looked down, so I concentrated on taking a lot of pictures of the ground. This photo is my favorite. It is a section of my home town, and when I enlarge it, I can actually pick out my house.

Very cool – and a fun interpretation of the challenge!
I was a cool experience — even though a little “unbalancing.” I figured since I’d flown in jets before I wouldn’t have any trouble. I was totally surprised to find my head spinning. But it was amazing how focusing on the ground made all the difference. Came in handy for getting tons of photos.
Sounds wonderful but you’re very brave. I think it would be my stomach causing me a problem not my head! How amazing to be able to find your own house 🙂
Yes, I was actually surprised that I had photographed that particular sector of the town. With my head wobbly, I was just trying to continue looking down and shooting pictures. I didn’t really know what I had until I loaded them into my computer and looked more closely.
