Scott Thomas Summers’ poetry is extremely moving and takes the reader right into the heart of what it’s like to be a soldier in the midst of war. You cannot read his work without being touched deeply.
I created this blog as a way of advertising my two books: Private Hercules McGraw and The Journals of Lt. Kendall Everly. Both are stories of the American Civil War. Private Hercules McGraw narrates a tale from a Confederate prospective. Lt. Kendal Everly narrates a tale from a Union point-of-view; however, both books also speak of very human journeys, one triumphant, the other tragic.
If I could, might I urge you to read, perhaps, one. Both are well reviewed and have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, a national literary award.
