Thanks, Gilly. It was such an unusual experience. When I stepped outside that day after rain and saw the whole atmosphere pink, and then the rainbow, I had to grab my camera. Of course it doesn’t do justice to the reality, but it was a scene worth capturing.
Yes. I’ve seen pink in the sky at sunrise and sunset, but I had never seen the entire sky — the entire atmosphere — pink like this before. It’s so pink you can only barely see the rainbow.
It had to be the way the sun color was reflecting off the clouds. It’s the only thing I can figure. I actually lightened the picture a little so that you could see the rainbow better, so the real effect was slightly more pink than you see on my posted picture.

It is pretty amazing. I wonder what caused the pink colour.
