I suppose one might consider it technically my ‘native language’ — or at least one of them. However, I don’t speak it well — even though I took some classes to try to learn to do so. The Cherokee Nation is working very hard currently to restore the use of the native language among all Cherokee people. The hope is that it will help to keep a stronger hold on the Cherokee heritage — which, of course, was all but ripped to shreds by the white man’s government in our past history. But the Cherokee are making great strides in strengthening that heritage again now.
Where did you find this, it’s fascinating you woman of ak to vi his di!
I picked it up while at the Cherokee reservation in North Caroline a few years ago.
P. S. Thanks for the compliment. As the Word of God says, “Wisdom is the principal thing.”
