I see a lot of great sunrises from my front porch, but they truly are “ephemeral.” If I don’t grab my camera immediately, I miss out on keeping the moment.
I actually tweaked this one a little to make the color stand out more, but I do see some of the most amazing displays of color in the sunrises and sunsets in my area. I am often surprised by the amount of pink — bright pink — that is involved, and a few mornings ago, I was struck by the gorgeous shade of yellow that was in the mix, but I didn’t capture it on my camera. One evening, back in the fall, the sunset was such a brilliant pink that it colored the air throughout the whole neighborhood for about 20 minutes. I took a couple of pictures, but they didn’t do it justice at all, and I have another photo, taken a couple years ago, that doesn’t do justice to the sky either. That day, we had just had a thunderstorm, and then a rainbow. But the sun had turned the sky such a brilliant pink that you could only barely see the rainbow for all the rest of the color in the sky. God paints a darn good picture — better than any photo I can get.
You certainly captured a beautiful moment.

What made this one particularly special was that it was on an Easter Sunday morning — a few years ago.
As I scrolled through my reader I knew this was your photo, you have them most amazing colour skies!
