I used to do my own Christmas cards every year. A lot of work, but a lot of fun…
I’ve made Christmas cards for years on my computer — with photos and computer graphics. I’ve sold a lot of sets of them made like that. But I’ve never done any with the watercolors or any kind of ink or stamps. I think I may try some watercolor cards this year, but I don’t think I’ll do more than a few.
That looks like a good project to do with the grandkids, and I’m sure I’d enjoy it as much or more than they would.
I’m thinking about doing some. I’ve made Christmas and greeting cards on my computer for years, but these would be more time consuming. So I don’t think I’d make a whole batch of them, but I might be good for half a dozen.
Also, I watched another tutorial on watercolor Christmas cards, and that woman used a little cheap set of watercolors like you buy for kids at Dollar General or Wal-Mart, and they worked just as good as the expensive watercolors. So you wouldn’t have to invest a lot. I would use the watercolor paper though, because it will absorb better and not ripple or soak through.
