This abundant exhibition of beauty is truly a gift from God.  I am blessed to be surrounded by all of it in my yard this year — particularly since I am not much of a gardener or grounds-keeper. I thought I’d share the beauty with my readers in this little slide show.  Depending on the size of your screen, the photos may not come out very large in the slide show, but there are just too many to post as separate pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

  1. Gorgeous! And a reminder that God has indeed blessed America in this beautiful display of red, white, and blue!

    • They are gorgeous and most definitely from God. I inherited these Azaleas bushes as part of God’s blessing when we bought the house. I love them, and this is one of their best years. The only thing I did for them was pull a few weeds and cut back the branches that hung over my steps and sidewalk. God did the rest all by Himself.

  2. Your azaleas are awesome, hardly a leaf to be seen! I really like the bright pink against the white but it’s the purity of the white ones that win hands down. Such rewarding shrubs and it looks like you’re a very good gardener to me.

    • Thank you, Gilly. I agree: I love the colors, but it’s the white ones that really ‘grab’ me. An in all honesty, I don’t do much except thank the Lord for them. The lady who lived in this house before me planted them. That was about 15 years ago. I’m not a “yard” person, and my work schedule doesn’t allow for it anyway, so all they get from me — or the gentleman who mows the yard — is some de-weeding a couple times during the summer and some branches cut back when they have grown over the sidewalk or the porch railing. This is one of the best years they’ve had in a while, and I’m reminded that the white ones were blooming a little back in December when temperatures were barely above freezing. So I guess they’ve been sort of bursting at the seems to get out this year.

      • I went back into the post today to try to change the slideshow to bigger pictures or change to just a composite of pictures, but it wouldn’t let me edit the pictures. The only thing it would let me do was create a whole new slideshow or gallery, and I would have had to hunt for every single picture and re-insert each one separately. And they were not in my media library — which I couldn’t understand either, because they use to be there. Anyway, I didn’t have time to hunt for the pictures on my computer and insert each one separately again.

If you think of — or know of — a way to change it without having to put in each picture individually, please be sure and let me know. Thanks a lot.

  3. If your photos are gone that is not good, I was thinking of how it is done now by just changing slideshow to gallery. The old method was harder. I know when I changed themes it messed a lot of photo up. 😥

    • Since the pictures are still in the slideshow, I should be able to change it to a gallery if there’s a method, but when I go to my editing window, and click on my slideshow in the editor, it won’t take me to any place where I can tell it to change to a gallery. I know when I first created it, I could have chosen either one, but after it’s in my post, I can’t find a way to get back to the page that gives me choices.

Did you find some instructions for changing from a slideshow to a gallery after the slideshow is already posted? If you happen to remember where you found that information, I could try to check it out. If not, it’s okay, but if you do remember where you read it, I’ll look for it.

      • Click on the slideshow, in edit. It says Edit Gallery. Look all way to the right and you should see 3 drop boxes. The bottom one says Slideshow, but if you click the drop you have 4 choices – Thumbnail Grid, circles, etc and Slideshow. I used the Thumbnail when I do a gallery. See if that works.

        • I did try clicking on the slideshow in the edit window when I first thought about changing it, but when I click on slideshow in the edit window, it won’t give me the choices. It won’t do anything at all. That’s why I can’t change anything. I thought it was supposed to take me back to the editing window in the media library, and give me those options, but I can’t get any response no matter what I do. I tried left-clicking, right clicking, and highlighting before clicking, but still nothing. Maybe it’s my old operating system in my computer. There are a few other things that don’t work right as well, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the problem. But thanks for getting back to me on it anyway.

          • Try making one on a new blog and experiment to see if that will help. I do that often on a test blog. Add a photo, update it, and then click to add another, a pencil shows up. click it and you should get right back into where you decide whether it is a slide or gallery. You can erase all the exchanges if you want when you figure it out. Don’t give up. 🙂

          • I was always able to get it to work when I was in the process of creating a new post too, and you would think it would still work the same way here. But when I get some time to experiment, I may try what you suggested on my test blog and see if I can get it to work. I’ll let you know what happens.

Hey, don't you dare go away without leaving me a note!
