Okay, I know I told you this series had three parts. It did, and I posted them all. But then this evening I got to thinking about this quirky little poem I wrote a little over a year ago. And I thought how neat it would be to add it to the series as a ‘just for fun’ capstone. So here’s Part 4 – my little poem titled “The Writer Writes.”
I think I’ll write a poem.
Type, type, type …
Words, words, words …
‘Twill have to be a story.
Type, type, type …
Words, words, words …
No … I guess a novel.
Type, type, type …
Words, words, words …
A saga will be better.
Type, type, type …
Words, words, words …
A trilogy is called for.
Type, type, type …
Words, words, words …
My editor now reads it.
Delete, delete, delete …
Delete, delete, delete …
I have a two-line stanza.

HAPPY YEAR OF THE AUTHOR!!! I just hope you have as much fun being an author as I do.

Haha that’s great!
Thank you. Most of what I said in the main articles in the series was serious and down-to-earth. I thought a little whimsy at the end would be a nice touch.
I used to write a LOT of poetry. These days it is mostly limited to the weekly challenge Velvet Verbosity. this is one of my favorites (are we allowed to have favorites written by us?)

Oh, we should definitely have favorites of our own works. In fact, this little poem used for this Part 4 article is one of my own favorites. I get over there and check out the one on the link.
I didn’t even realize this was an actual poem. Then i read it and it made me Lol 🙂
Good. It was intended to be funny. But it also helps me remember to edit my own stuff ruthlessly before turning it over to an editor.
Good point!
Sounds like my blog. I get great ideas and then what prints is short, short, short!
I remember this one!
A wonderful poem that exudes optimism and inspiration. Wishing you and your family a blessed, exciting New Year.
Thank you, and I wish the same for you as well.
And a happy 2014 to you too Sandra
