I felt it was time again to let my good friend Terry Valley have a say in the weekly photo challenge. His artwork + my editing = my interpretation of the theme “Fresh.”

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Orange
To be completely honest, I dislike orange very much. But it is, after all, a legitimate color, and I found loads of it in my photos just waiting for its share of attention. So here’s my offering.

`
Well, I guess orange is okay — as long as it’s in small doses.

This week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge asks us to post a picture that follows the “rule of thirds” and perhaps includes a bokeh effect. I didn’t try for bokeh because I didn’t want my background blurred. It’s too beautiful as it is, and the contrast is perfect.

I’ve featured some of Terry Valley’s photography on my site previously, but this week’s subject brought several of Terry’s photos to my mind anew. He is a much better photographer than I am, and I just thought this week’s challenge was a perfect place to give his work a little more attention. All of these photos do justice to the subject of “depth.”

Leaf by tender leaf,
I watch this stately monarch
Dressing up for fall.
Gold, russet, yellow,
And brilliant red — her choices,
For she loves them all.
Hour by passing hour
The change begins subdued – but
Then bursts into flame.
I revel in the site.
My heart belongs to Autumn.
It’s joy calls my name.
The troubles that have pressed
Throughout the year now ending,
Though they’re present still,
Are restrained by the power
Of Autumn’s golden glory
To subdue all ill.
My heart belongs to Autumn.
Indeed, it always will.

I must apologize for an error on this post. I got my original connection to this challenge through another blogger, and even though I did go to Sonel’s site, I evidently misunderstood the full requirement of the challenge. All of the photos in this challenge are SUPPOSED to have been edited and shown with the original and the edited versions together. I somehow got the idea that the editing was optional, and none of these have been edited except the last one. I won’t change all of them now, but at least if anyone else is considering getting involved, you know that you should pay better attention to the details of the challenge than I did.
