I live in a small city that is a little over 100 years old, and I’m glad that several of the business owners have gone to the trouble and expense of refurbishing and restoring so many of our buildings. I love to look down this street on a quiet day and see the windows in the upper level of these buildings.
The picture of the single building with the “Annex” sign was a very busy and popular movie theater in the late 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. It has been re-claimed and turned into a coffee shop with a 1940’s movie theme decor inside.
The second picture shows the other end of that block of buildings, also with restored structures and windows.
Such a pretty building upstairs! Here is my window 🙂

How pretty! Hope you enjoyed your time there.
We were there for business, but at hotel like this with its magnificent view it really turned business into pleasure. 🙂
Windows with a touch of glamour ! Bet it’s nice to have a coffee there 🙂
It’s become such a popular place that they have started serving three meals a day as well.
Oh I LOVE these, Paul! I would so like to live in a place with windows like these.
Oh so many windows, wonderful photography. Here are my windows this week http://gertrygiggles.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/thursdays-windows/
These windows are so neat. It would be great to live in a place with windows like these. (Assuming someone else cleaned them, of course)
Yes, I can’t say that cleaning windows is my favourite task.
Just wanted to let you know that I have nominated you for the “Very Inspiring Blogger Award.” You can find the information about the award on my site. And please feel free to comply with only the parts of the “rules” that you are comfortable with. Sometimes these award can almost become a burden if we let them, so I don’t want that to happen. Just enjoy it.
Thank you I’ll pop over and take a look.
What a wonderful variety of windows on the second floors of all those buildings! Here’s mine – http://newpillowbook.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/thursdays-windows-handles/
Very pretty windows, Sandra. Your city looks really charming. Here is my contribution

I’d love to take a stroll down that block. It looks beautiful. I’d probably visit that coffee shop every morning. In fact I’m writing from a coffee shop right now in Lehi, Utah- on my way back from a vacation in Jackson Hole Wyoming. I’ll blog about that over the weekend, I think. I’m at http://photovignettes.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/thursdays-windows-week-9/
I live in a small town too, but not nearly as old. I like your windows very much!
Here is my entry for this week. ENJOY!

Just had to share this Sandra http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-20309493
Oh Yes! So glad you did! These are terrific. Too bad we didn’t know about it before the deadline; you and I would have had shop windows to enter into the BBC News slideshow! Thanks so much for sharing this.
Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi Sandra – I finally have one (after a little absence). Hi Cee – I live in a small town too, A California Gold Rush town. Anyway – here’s mine (hint – it makes me VERY happy!)

These photos represent a very special, productive event for you. So happy for you and happy you shared them with us.
Hi Sandra
I think that was when the whole thing really became real to me – my picture in the window.
Thank you for letting me share such an extraordinary event!

Sandra
THANK YOU!
I have to admit – I’m in the overwhelmed mode again and have not been able to tackle the things on my blog that I would like to take care of. I will have to put this award on hold (or at least other nominations) until I go back to being normal (do you think that is possible?) 😆
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. It means a lot to me that you realized what an important part this play has made in my life.

No problem. Take all the time you need. And I’m serious when I say, you don’t have to follow all the rules to the letter. Several of us on WordPress have discussed the awards issue. We really like passing them on to people who deserve to be recognized, and we like letting people see the links to those blogs so that they can visit if they never have. But realistically, the number of requirements can become a heavy burden — especially for people who receive several awards. So take your time and when you feel you know a blogger you want to nominate, you can post his name. You may want to do just one at a time, over a period of time. But feel free to post the award button on you blog anyway, because you have been given the award because you deserved it.
Hi Sandra
I have to say – you hit the nail on the head. I find the requirements overwhelming and I am not one of those people who nominates someone simply to fulfill a requirement. So, I have been putting the awards on hold. I like the idea of promoting other blogs, but I think listing 15 bloggers is a lot. Five is reasonable to me and doable, I think, for most bloggers. It is re-assuring to know that other’s feel the same way. Thank you for letting me know and yes, I will post the button. 😳
Happy Thanksgiving
Here’s one for you Sandra – waiting for take-off http://beyondthebrushphotography.wordpress.com/2012/11/19/waiting-for-take-off/
That is Fantastic! Thank you so much for posting it.
