FIGURING IT OUT
I like to have my cake and eat it too.
That makes me sound a spoiled brat,
Quite through and through.
But I’m not really spoiled, just practical.
And firmly I believe if we desire a thing,
Investing all our heart into imagining,
We’ll come up with a plan to make our dreams come true.
Why, my solution’s simple, really – quite the thing:
I’ve learned that if I plan ahead and bake me two,
It’s possible to have my cake and eat it too.

It’s even better with coffee.

I’ve always wondered what was the point of having your cake if you couldn’t eat it – if I can’t eat it, I don’t want to even know it exists…
Love the poem…
Thanks, and I agree that cake has absolutely no value unless you can eat it — with no guilt.
Guilt -that’s the killer š
Lol!!! I love it!! š I really enjoyed this palm. Thank you for sharing. šāØ
I meant to say I really enjoyed this *poem. Sometimes I detest my phone’s obsessive need to autocorrect without first asking my permission. š
Yes, I was sure that’s what you meant. And unfortunately, I think we’ve finally reached that day we used to joke about when our computers are starting to take over.
Thank you. I appreciate your reading and commenting.
I’d say wise rather than spoilt š
Yes, indeed. Thank you very much.
Loved this. I actually sang it to a tune I made up as I went along. It sounded like a song from a musical. Try it yourself. You will see you are a lyricist! š
Thanks for the visit and the encouraging words. I do write songs once in a while, but I hadn’t thought about putting this piece to music. Glad you enjoyed it.
